Site Strategy is a unique process developed by Machan Consulting to help manufacturing companies create a coherent strategy to improve the performance of their operational sites. Such a strategy may be required to overcome far eastern competition, create a roadmap to reverse inefficient processes and poor customer service, as a means to forge a unified workforce or to address a variety of other issues.
The process involves:
• Development of the strategy
• Engaging key stakeholders
• Implementation of a practical plan to deliver the desired outcome of the strategy.


Approach
Our consultants, who have practical experience of a range of issues across a variety of business sectors, initially use a workshop based process. This is then supported by in depth one-to-one interviews with relevant people within the business, to establish the ground work for the development of the strategy.


Preparation
In the preparation stage of the process, we review the financial performance and future scenarios for the business, and explore the external environmental factors that are facing the business, competitors and the particular sector in which they operate more generally.
If the site is part of a larger multinational business, we also explore the demands that this places on the business. We focus on the strengths and opportunities and also look to address relevant weaknesses and threats.


Team Involvement
By involving the entire team in the approach to develop the Site Strategy, we aim to build consensus, real enthusiasm and buy-in as well as a passion for the plan when things get tough.
